Walk Arrow

Walk.
Getting stronger and growing as
you learn more about Jesus.

From the Bible:
Your word is a lamp to guide my feet
and a light for my path.
Psalm 119:105

Why is this prayer called ‘Walk’?
Grownups often use the word ‘walk’ to describe their growing love for Jesus. That might seem a funny way to talk about being a Christian, because as we know; even if you can’t walk you can still love and follow Jesus, plus we’re not actually walking all the time.

So let me explain!

Walking is exercise that makes us stronger. We need to do things make our faith stronger too, like praying, reading the Bible, meeting with our church and doing stuff to make our world fairer (even in the little things like sharing).

Would you complete a race by not moving?

Of course not!

You need to keep moving to finish the race.

Ponder:
It doesn’t matter if we are at the start of walking with Jesus or have been walking with Him for a long time. We still need to keep moving!

Pray:
There are different ways to do this prayer – so pick one that would help you best! (Remember, this isn’t a competition – follow the squiggles any way you want to. It's doing it that matters).

Follow the squiggle:
1. On some paper draw a squiggly line – it doesn’t need to be a big squiggle, just one you can follow with your finger.

2. Draw the squiggle with chalk on the pavement outside (Or somewhere in your garden if you have one).

If you want to follow the line with your finger – make it small. If you want to fallow the line with your feet – make it BIG!

3. Make the squiggle with squares of newspaper/paper that you can step on (great for wiggly children!)

Pray as you follow the line, with your finger, hands or feet:

Ask God to help you follow him.
Ask Him to help you when the walk is hard or boring.
Ask Him if there is something He wants you to do.

Here’s a song you could sing whilst you’re doing this:
